Six, Including Pair In 80s, Caught Engaging In Sexual Activity In Fairfield Woods, Police Say

After receiving complaints of people engaging in lewd and sexual activity in a wooded area in Fairfield, police made six arrests, including two people in their 80s, following surveillance of the area, said the Fairfield Police.

The surveillance -- conducted by the department's Special Services and Quality of Life units, on Friday, Aug. 19, in the Grace Richardson Open Space area at the intersection of Congress Street and Morehouse Highway, captured the six allegedly committing several violations, said Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras.

The following people were arrested and charged: Daniel Dobbins, 67, breach of peace and public indecency; Otto D. Williams, 62, breach of peace; Charles L. Ardito, 75, breach of peace; John Linartz, 62, breach of peace and public indecency; Richard Butler, 82, breach of peace, and Joyce Butler, 85, breach of peace.

All were released on a promise to appear in court ticket. 

A court date has not been set.
